PurgeRite News Sept 2017

Our team recently completed a chill water flush for the new Pantex Adminstrative Support Complex. The new Administrative Support Complex (ASC), is being built just south of the Pantex Plant, and is a 343,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility providing office space for up to 1,100 federal and contractor employees. The Pantex Plant is the nation’s only nuclear weapons assembly and disassembly facility and is a key element in the U.S. nuclear security enterprise. Pantex is located on the high plains of the Texas Panhandle, 17 miles east of Amarillo, Texas.

The building will provide an administrative and support facility for the nuclear security mission at Pantex and relocate employees from numerous aging facilities that are costly to operate and do not meet modern standards. Along with office space for nearly one-third of Pantex employees, the facility will be equipped with a conference center, cafeteria, visitor’s center, and medical and employee health and fitness facilities. Purgerite deployed its 601self-contained flush unit and technicians and completed the flush in less than a week, on budget and on time. We are fortunate to work with great mechanicals and general contractors across the U.S. on facilities, such as this one, that will benefit our country.

Mechanical Flush Plan – INCLUDED !

Often times on your project the owner and engineer will require a documented flush plan. These are to be turned in at the time of submittals or prior to the flushing taking place for approval. They mostly consist of the documented approach, equipment to use, and procedures you will take to follow the specifications and insure the chill and or hot water piping is cleaned properly. It sometimes involves a drawing along with calculations to make sure all piping is flushed at the volume and velocity the engineer wants. This critical component is part of our services and included in our flat fee pricing when required.
