District Plant Flush – The RELLIS Campus

Redevelopment of the The Texas A&M University System Riverside campus is underway and our team worked through the December rain and even a little Texas snow and cold weather to ensure this premier development will start off with clean heating, chilled, and condensor piping. The new campus will cover approximately 2000 acres and will be a high-tech, multi-institutional research, testing and workforce development center.

The PurgeRite team was called on to develop a flushing strategy, documented plan, and provide the resources to flush the new Central Utility Plant piping. The customer required 10’ per second high velocity and volume flush. Additionally, we were called on to clean over a mile of large diameter underground HDPE piping along with the connections to the first Blinn Building. Success was achieved, thanks to a strong TEAM effort!

UT Tyler has a Central District Plant and is connecting their new STEM building to the plant. We had to isolate the new underground piping and flush it. Afterwards, that portion of piping was opened, and system water was circulated using a bypass. Upon our return, we successfully flushed the interior phase. The new building hydronic system is clean and chemically operational.
